Changes in the higher education have led to a remarkable level of professionalism of the studies and the constant adaptation to social demands. In this sense, one of the requirements for the university education in the audiovisual communication area is to develop the professionalizing competences on the students, in order to facilitate them to find employment in a highly competitive, constantly changing market. The aim of this research is to create a rubric to assess Audiovisual Communication professionalizing learning in the Audiovisual Communication degrees in Spain. For the development of the rubric employers and academic experts of the field of the audiovisual communication have been intentionally selected. The final rubric allows to evaluate the degree of acquisition of the professionalizing competencies in Audiovisual Communication and to draw a clear map of the organization and suitability of the processes and educational methodologies. In this sense, the rubric can be a key pedagogical instrument for a future promotion of students, and become an instrument that enhances the students' formative assessment.
