Abstract

[...]it will go a long way to help the undergraduate trainees to remove their initial fear about the subject called pediatrics and prepare them well for the examinations they would face, help postgraduates to consolidate their knowledge base to go to the next level, and will impart practical tips to the practicing pediatricians. Important hot topics in pediatrics are updated with equal enthusiasm by the author in an attempt to give an edge to the readers by helping them to keep updated with the changing concepts which in turn will become handy in making practical and evidence-based decision-making on the bedside. Many more new additions to the 4th edition (breastfeeding; managing the child with rickets; connective tissue disorders; adolescence; sexual maturity rating; and disorders of the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and hematopoietic systems, to name a few) will make it appealing to the candidates who wish to pursue a career in specialty pediatrics.
