Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate animal health, veterinary health service, expectation and satisfaction of the cattle breeders in the cattle enterprises in Narman County of Erzurum Province. For this purpose, data were obtained from 208 cattle enterprises in Narman County via face to face survey study with owners of the enterprises, and the data were analyzed. While 59.1 % of the cattle breeders in the county vaccinated their pregnant cows with septicemia vaccine, 63.9 % of them used calf septicemia serum for new born calves. It was found out that 26.6 % of the breeders performed umbilical cord care after birth, the most faced problem by the cattle breeders was foot and toe problem with 36.4 %. It was indicated that percentage of the enterprises receiving regular veterinary service was 7.7 % and the services were mostly received from private veterinarians. Furthermore 68.3 % of the cattle breeders were satisfied from cattle raising and cattle farming was main source of income of the 61.5 % of them. The most important problems in the enterprises were diseases (25.7 %) and high feed prices (22.6 %). It was also indicated that 19.9 % of the enterprises used agricultural credits and 53.7 % of them obtained the credit from banks. It was concluded that animal health and veterinary services have to be provided effectively and regularly. In addition, it would be useful for Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock to provide supports to the breeder in this subject
