Abstract

Most cases of hidroacanthoma simplex are easily misdiagnosed as other types of benign and malignant tumors clinically, such as clonal-type seborrheic keratosis and Bowen's disease. In 2015, Shiiya et al . reported three main dermoscopic features that characterize hidroacanthoma simplex—(i) scattered fine black dots/globules; (ii) fine scales arranged annularly; and (iii) the absence of the glomerular vessels that are usually observed in Bowen's disease. Declaration of patient consent The authors certify that they have obtained all appropriate patient consent forms.
