Abstract

[...]of massive activation of the coagulation cascade, DIC results in diffuse thrombi, thereby leading to excess thrombin and reduction of coagulation factors and platelets1. DIC is a confusing syndrome and there is no consensus on the standard treatment method for DIC since it can result from a wide variety of diseases, it can present with different clinical and laboratory signs, and its clinical course varies greatly among patients.
