Abstract

Privacy is a concept associated with confidentiality and includes the protection of information, particularly the personal data of individuals. [...]individuals’ protection concerning personal data processing is a fundamental right (Art. 8.°) [10], and their privacy is an essential factor. [...]the processing of personal data must be lawful and proportionate to the purpose for which it was collected. According to the law applied in Portugal, the de-identification of data is a process to protect the privacy of individuals [14]. Less common examples include geographic location and occupation.
