It is a pleasure to introduce the special issue TPTPMIAC2019, which is a collection of peer-reviewed and selected papers presented at the 1st Workshop on Thermal Processing and Thermophysical Properties of Metals, Intermetallics, Alloys and Composites 2019 (TPTPMIAC2019), during CEEC-TAC5 & Medicta2019 meeting in Rome, Italy (27-30 August 2019). The CEEC-TAC5 & Medicta2019 meeting (5th Central and Eastern European Conference on Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry & 14th Mediterranean Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis) included the "Materials Science" section with 160 works related to thermal aspects within various classes of materials, of which some regarding metals, intermetallics, alloys and composites are presented in their extended version inside the special volume TPTPMIAC2019.
The TPTPMIAC2019 itself was a much appreciated discussion, where several cutting-edge problems related to the topic were presented during the Materials workshop and the ICTAC Committee for Materials round-table; here, specific thermal aspects of processing and property analysis of metals, intermetallics, alloys and composites were debated.
We remain obliged to the organizer of the TPTPMIAC2019 workshop: Central and Eastern European Committee for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (CEEC-TAC), to the Sapienza University of Rome for providing the venue, and least but not last to the journal that agreed to dedicate a special issue: Journal of Mining and Metallurgy, Section B: Metallurgy.
As the title of the Special Issue states, we are pleased to introduce "Thermal Processing and
Thermophysical Properties of Metals, Intermetallics, Alloys and Composites 2019 (TPTPMIAC2019)" containing some articles on this topic to the readers of Journal of Mining and Metallurgy, Section B: Metallurgy.
This compilation is based on the peer-reviewed and selected papers presented at the 1st Workshop on Thermal Processing and Thermophysical Properties of Metals, Intermetallics, Alloys and Composites 2019 (TPTPMIAC2019).
