Abstract

[...]it is critical to determine the exact origin of the plant material used as Baibu. Besides photosynthesis, the chloroplast also plays critical roles in other biological processes, including the synthesis of amino acids, nucleotides, fatty acids and many secondary metabolites. [...]we investigated the gene loss events in Stemonaceae and its closely related families (Asparagoideae, Velloziaceae, Cyclanthaceae and Pandanaceae). [...]1.0% agarose gel and a Nanodrop spectrophotometer 2000 (Thermo Fisher Scientific, United States) were used to evaluate the purity and concentration of the extracted DNA, respectively.
