Abstract
Under the trend of complex building functions, the paper tries to explore the idea and method of design for gymnasium. Taking the handball hall design of Huyi Campus of Xi’an Institute of Physical Education as an example, the paper puts forward specific design strategies in terms of function allocation, operation mode and image positioning. The purpose is to reveal the inspiration of the design concept of “compound function” for the design and development of gymnasium building.
