In 2013 computers and peripherals was determined by a strong shift of consumers to mobile versions of products, tablets in particular, which particularly affected sales of desktops and peripherals. While desktops and peripherals posted strong declines, the category's overall growth exceeded 27% in retail volume terms to stand at just over three million units.In 2013, mobile devices appealed to consumers more strongly than traditional desktops, causing the latter to shrink while portable computers gained in share. The latter accounted for 89% share of retail sales volume compared to 86% in 2012.
