Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of new technologies on learning communities at the Technological Higher Institute of Paulo Emilio Macías (ISTPEM), a phenomenon that is observed empirically through professional practice in the context of a global pandemic where the pedagogical practice is assumed in a virtual. For the methodology, the viewpoint is the interpretive paradigm, qualitative approach, and phenomenological method. The technique used to collect information was an in-depth interview through a semi-structured interview script that served as an instrument, applied to 5 teachers from that house of studies, who offered their opinions as key informants, which was analyzed through triangulation. The findings found were directed towards the recognition of the potential that new technologies have in the educational process, which achieves the student's self-training with family and social intervention, according to their own reality, since it contributes to the collaborative and collective construction of learning because it facilitates the generation of spaces that foster the exchange of ideas and respond to academic needs, transforming into a virtual learning community, allowing, in turn, to approach the contents from different perspectives with the definition of new rules of participation.
