Abstract

A menudo se critica la publicidad por no ser respetuosa con los cánones sociales en un determinado momento y lugar. La Publicidad en España está regulada por ley desde el año 1988 cuando la Ley general de la Publicidad estableció lo que es y lo que no es publicidad. Sin embargo y aunque exista esta evidencia, la duda y la oposición a determinadas campañas hace de la publicidad una actividad poco reconocida socialmente. Por el contrario, lo que es o no es publicidad es un concepto bien definido técnicamente y legalmente.

Advertising is often criticized for not being respectful of social canons at a certain time and place. Advertising in Spain has been regulated by law since 1988 when the General Advertising Law established what is and is not advertising. However, and even if this evidence exists, doubt and opposition to certain campaigns makes advertising an activity that is not recognized socially. On the contrary, what is or is not advertising is a technically and legally well-defined concept.
