Abstract
Research of the influences of time and sea surface temperature toward catch of beach seines at Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh conducted in December 2021 for 15 days. This research aims to analyze the composition of the number of beach catches, discover the effect of time on the number of catches of beach seines, to describe the sea surface temperature in the Gampong Jawa waters. The method used in this research uses a survey method through observing and collecting information directly at the research location; the data were analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of tables or charts. The results showed that the composition of dominant catches of beach seines in Gampong Jawa in the morning was dominated by petek fish (Leiognathus equulus) as much as 23% and in the afternoon dominated by moonfish (Megalops cyprinoides) with a percentage of 62%. The difference in catch time between morning and afternoon tends to have an impact on the catch where the best fishing time is in the afternoon. Based on statistics with paired t test obtained a significant value of 0.023 <α value of 0.05, morning and afternoon time has an effect on the number of fish caught. Then the sea surface temperature during the study was in the range of 27 ºC to 29 ºC.
