Abstract

The purpose of the project was to fund a program to bring nonpharmacologic activities into the homes of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The project aimed to increase engagement among patients with AD, decrease their behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), keep individuals with AD in their homes, reduce caregiver stress, and improve caregiver-patient relationship.

After conducting a review of the literature, this grant writer developed a proposal to deliver home-based interventions and tools to the residences of AD patients, as well as provide them with education and online support to complement the tools provided. After reviewing various funding sources, the Archstone Foundation was selected as the funder for this project.

The actual submission and funding of the grant proposal was not required for completion of this project proposal.
