Abstract
Objective
To explore the effect of local characteristic children palace activities on improving the positive psychological quality of primary and secondary school students.
Methods
The study adopted "experimental group-control group" pre-test and post-test experimental design. 530 students from 3 to 8 grade were randomly selected and assigned into experimental group (n = 265) and control group (n = 265). The experimental group was intervened with the local characteristic children~ palace activities for 12 times in 90 days and control group was not intervened. The subjects were assessed with the Chinese Schoolchildren Positive Mental Quality Scale (CSPMQS) before and after activities.
Results
(~) Tbe scores of 6 dimension of CSPMQS shown no difference between two gropes before activities (P > 0.05). (2) The scores of experimental group in dimension of temperance, interpersonal, beyond and just had significant difference between pre-test and post-test (P < O. 05), while the scores of dimension of emotional and cognitive had no difference before and after activities (P > 0.05). (3) The control group scores of 6 dimension of CSPMQS shown difference before and after activities (P > O. 05). (5) In post-test, the scores of experimental group in dimension of interpersonal, just, temperance and beyond were higher than control group (P < 0.05), while the scores of dimension of emotional and cognitive had no difference between two groups (P > 0.05).
Conclusion
Local characteristic children~ palace activities may improve positive psychological quality of dimension of interpersonal, just, temperance and beyond of the primary and secondary school students.
