Abstract

Objective: In the context of civil construction, the objective of this study is to conduct a systematic literature review and identify the risk factors for the worsening of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the construction industry and provide a critical view of the ergonomic analysis tools for biomechanical overload in civil construction activities. Method: The methodology adopted for this research involves the use of the Methodi Ordinatio methodology to perform bibliometrics, where the most relevant publications on the subject were surveyed. The top ten publications ranked according to the impact factor, number of citations and year of publication were highlighted. Results and Discussions: Identification of the risk factors for the worsening of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the Construction Industry through the articles presented in the ranking prepared through the Methodi Ordinatio, the research showed an increase in the use and development of ergonomic analysis tools with new technologies for capturing movement and images, as well as specifying the main reasons for the development of MSDs in the sector through the various activities analyzed in the articles. Research Implications: The theoretical implications of this research are discussed and presented in each article analyzed, showing the research problem of each article and carrying out the analysis of the conclusions presented, as well as the main focuses of discussion of the articles analyzed. Originality: This research contributes to the literature in the field of Ergonomics, by approaching an area with great potential for development, which is civil construction, which still lacks more research in the various activities that make up the construction of a building.
