Abstract
To study the impact initiation characteristics of nitrate plasticized polyether (NEPE) propellant, the fragments, shell casing, thermal layer, and propellant were simulated and the model was established. The effect of fragments on the initiation performance of the NEPE propellant model at different initial velocities was analyzed. When the initial velocity of the fragment increases from 1, 000 m/s to 5, 000 m/s, the time of the occurrence of the explosion is gradually advanced, the detonation area is gradually enlarged, and the peak value is narrower with the increase in velocity.
