Kanser Hastalarında Bir Semptom Konstipasyon: Literatür İncelemesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu literatür incelemesinin amacı, Türkiye’de yapılan hemşirelik alanındaki tezleri ve araştırma makalelerini inceleyerek, kanser hastalarında konstipasyon semptomunun prevalansını ve konstipasyona yönelik uygulanan girişimlerinin etkisini belirlemekti.Gereç ve Yöntem: Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu Ulusal Tez Merkezi, Google Akademik Türkçe arama motoru ve Ulusal Akademik Ağ ve Bilgi Merkezi Türk Tıp Dizini üzerinde 01.01.2010 ve 15.11.2020 tarihleri arasında; “kanser ve konstipasyon”, “kemoterapi ve semptom”, “kanser ve semptom” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak bir tarama yapıldı. Toplam 14 tez ve 13 araştırma makalesi tespit edildi. İçeriğinde konstipasyon semptomunu bulunduran, metnin tamamına erişilebilen, Türkçe yayınlanmış ve 18 yaş ve üzeri katılımcıları içeren beş tez ve dört araştırma makalesi bu literatür derlemesinde incelendi.Bulgular: İncelenen çalışmalarda, kanser hastalarında konstipasyon prevalansı %19,5- 69 arasında belirlendi. Deneysel tipte yapılan tez çalışmalarının sonuçlarına göre kanser hastalarında semptom kontrolü ve önlemeye yönelik verilen eğitimlerin konstipasyon sıklığını (deney grubu %16,7-46,7; kontrol grubu %69,4-83,3) azalttığı saptandı.Sonuç: Türkiye’de hemşirelik alanında yapılan çalışmaların çoğunda, konstipasyonu önlemeye yönelik verilen eğitimlerin konstipasyon sıklığını ve şiddetini azaltmada etkili olduğu saptandı.

Objective: The aim of the present literature review was to determine the prevalence of the constipation symptom in cancer patients and the effect of interventions used for constipation by examining the theses and research articles which were conducted in the field of nursing in Turkey.

Material and Method: A search was performed between 01.01.2010 and 15.11.2020 dates, on Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center, Google Academic Turkish search engine, and National Academic Network and Information Center Turkish Medical Directory by using the keywords "cancer and constipation", "chemotherapy and symptom", "cancer and symptom". A total of 14 theses and 13 research articles were detected. Five theses and four research articles which included constipation symptom in its content, had accessible full texts, were published in Turkish, and included participants aged 18 years and older were investigated in the present literature review.

Results: In the investigated studies, the prevalence of constipation in cancer patients was determined between 19.5-69%. According to the results of the experimental thesis studies, it was determined that education for symptom control and prevention decreased the frequency of constipation (16.7-46.7% in the experimental group; 69.4-83.3% in the control group) in cancer patients.

Conclusion: In many of the studies that were conducted in the field of nursing in Turkey, educations for preventing constipation were detected effective in reducing the frequency and severity of constipation.
