Abstract

To maintain a sustainable and effective healthcare system that is responsive to social needs in the context of population aging, there has been increasing momentum for primary care physicians (PCPs) to engage in comprehensive medical care because of the positive impact of this approach on various health outcomes [1-3]. [...]a sustainable and validated training program for non-orthopedic surgeons and PCPs has not been established in Japan because these training courses are held infrequently and for shorter periods. [...]we hypothesized that PCPs in Japan may not be sufficiently prepared to address orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems, which may be affecting their practice.
