Abstract

En el presente trabajo nos proponemos abordar el estudio de la identidad discursiva y la expresión de la subjetividad en el contexto de la prosa epistolar del siglo XVI. Concretamente, analizaremos la única carta de relación conocida del conquistador Diego de Colio. Esta misiva se inserta en un corpus de correspondencia entre emigrados a Indias y el monarca español en torno a la primera mitad del quinientos. Desde un enfoque pragmadiscursivo, analizaremos aspectos de la vida en los nuevos territorios y confictos territoriales a través del estudio de los actos de habla de la carta, la deixis y las estrategias modalizadoras del discurso. El objetivo último es el de poder dar cuenta, a través del estudio del intercambio epistolar, de la confguración del universo privado y social del sujeto conquistador y migrante y los fujos de pensamiento que se establecieron entre el nuevo mundo americano y la vieja patria en España.

In the present work we propose to address the study of discursive identity and the expression of subjectivity in the context of 16th century epistolary prose. We will analyze the only known relation letter from the conqueror Diego de Colio. This letter is inserted in a corpus of correspondence between Indian emigrants and the Spanish monarch around the frst half of the 16th century. From a pragmadiscursive approach, we will analyze aspects of life in the new territories and territorial conficts through the study of the speech acts of the letter, the deixis and the modalizing strategies of the discourse. The ultimate objective is to be able to account, through the study of the epistolary exchange, of the confguration of the private and social universe of the conquering and migrant subject and the fows of thought that were established between the new American world and the old homeland in Spain.
