Abstract

A synchrotron radiation beamline BL13U is under commissioning at NanoTerasu, the new 3 GeV high-brilliance synchrotron radiation facility at Tohoku, Japan. BL13U is dedicated for wide-energy-range X-ray absorption spectroscopy, in the soft to tender X-ray energy region (180-3000 eV) with versatile polarization control for x-ray magnetic circular/linear dichroism (XMCD/XMLD) measurements. The beamline optics are designed for balancing high photon flux and energy resolution. BL13U has achieved an energy resolution E/ΔE above 10000 at 400 eV, as well as sharp X-ray absorption spectra both in the soft X-ray and tender X-ray region from Boron K (190 eV) to Ruthenium L2 (2970 eV) edges.
