INSTITUTIONAL ETHICS: PROFESSIONAL DUTY OR MORAL NECESSITY?

Institutions should be responsible for the impact they have on society. Once established, any institution must recognize its commitment to ethics and must claim a moral profile.

Professional ethics is a set of rules of conduct shared by a professional community, based on a system of moral principles regulating, through ethical norms, the behavior of the employees, delineating their rights, practices and duties, with the aim of supporting the employees in the process of making the correct decisions.

Professional ethics presupposes the existence of a Code of ethics and professional deontology Which, once approved, must be assumed by the employees, determining them to carry out their activity under the sign of a professional conduct in accordance with certain standards.

The main purpose of the Code of ethics is to promote those values that confer a positive image of the institution (honesty, integrity, loyalty, truth, tolerance, respect for others and their work, rigor, fairness), protecting the institution from dishonest individual behavior by providing a model of behavior, preventing violations of ethical and moral order. In the event these violations occur, legal norms intervene.

The plenary presentation will try to find the balance between professional duties dictated by the adherence to a set of conduct norms and the individual inner necessity to be guided by moral principles.

Etica profesionalá este un ansamblu de reguli de conduitá impártásit de o comunitate profesionalä, bazat pe un sistem de principi morale reglementánd, prin norme etice, comportamentul salariatilor, trasándu-le drepturile, practicile si datoriile, avánd menirea de a sprijini salariatii in luarea de decizii corecte.

Etica profesionalá presupune existenta unui Cod de etica si deontologie profesionalä care, odatá aprobat, trebuie asumat de salariati, determinandu-i sä-si desfasoare activitatea sub semnul unei conduite profesionale in conformitate cu anumite standarde.

Principala menire a Codului de etica este aceea de a promova acele valori care confera o imagine pozitiva a institutiei (cinste, integritate, loialitate, adevär, tolerantä, respect pentru ceilalti si pentru munca lor, rigoare, corectitudine), protejand-o de comportamente individuale necinstite prin furnizarea unui model de comportament, prevenind incálcárile de ordine etic si moral. In eventualitatea in care acestea totusi s-au produs, intervin normele legale.
