Abstract
The new Indonesian Capital City (ICC) program development in East Kalimantan Province has implications for the sustainability of capture fisheries activities in inland waters, which are a source of protein in efforts to overcome stunting. The Balikpapan tributary is one of the capture fisheries activities in inland waters supporting food security and is highly dependent on the existence of ecosystems and fish resources. There is no information regarding management status, especially inland fishery resources. The purpose of this research is to look at indicators of the main issue of the status of inland fisheries management in the Balikpapan tributary. The study was conducted using a rapid approach through interviews with decision-makers and beneficiaries in Sepaku, Pemaluan, and Mentawir rivers. The flag status of the management components is divided into main domains and indicators. The results showed that inland fisheries management in the three tributaries was included in the application of EAFM. The three main issues in the Sepaku, Pemaluan, and Mentawir rivers are the environment, economy, and governance. Even so, the management conditions, especially for the social and fishing technology domains, are relatively good; this can become the basis for community involvement in fisheries management.
