Roosevelt Papers, Hyde Park, enclosed in Cummings to President Roosevelt, January 27, 1938. We thank Professor Ellen Schrecker for calling it to our attention. Charles Krumbein (1889-1947) came out of the Chicago labor movement and became an important Communist Party functionary, serving as Party treasurer from 1938 until his death.
