Abstract
The strategic value of IT is manifested in the ability to generate and produce value within a dynamic and emergent context. Value is often seen as synonymous with efficiency and understood as the ability to increase productivity by reducing resources, or synonymous with effectiveness or the ability to respond quickly and successfully to users' demand. The aim of this paper is to respond to the following questions: can the IT governance be agile? What are the principles that must be implemented for agile-based governance?
To answer these questions we do this study that highlights the principles and issues of IT Governance and agility in order to find out what is useful for Agile IT Governance. Finally, this study suggests possible further research.

1. Introduction
IT governance is crucial for information systems, as it defines guidelines and policies to be applied to manage and control IT in business. IT governance promotes, encourages, discourages or bans different management behaviors regarding IT, aiming to achieve business goals and to manage IT risks [1]. However, IT governance is often a very rigid set of mies and processes, preventing information systems to evolve and change along with the company and its strategies.
Rapid changes in technology, globalization and privacy expectations are among the environmental features that most present organizations face with. In order to succeed in tliis environment, agility will create a competitive advantage which may be preserved by gaining fame through innovation and quality. Other organizations and firms as well as producers have to seek for agility in order to compete in 21st century race since modern organizations are strained increasingly to find new and active ways in tliis globally dynamic market. Agility is able to improve capability of organizations in presenting their products and quality services and therefore, it turns into an important factor for presenting the effectiveness of the organization.
