In this study, Carl L. KeIl, professor of communication at Western Kentucky University, concludes a trilogy about the rancorous controversy that has engulfed the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) over the last several decades. It is not necessary to read the two previous studies - In the Name of the Father: The Rhetoric of the New Southern Baptist Convention (Carbondale, 111., 1999), coauthored by L. Raymond Camp, and Exiled: Voices of the Southern Baptist Convention Holy War (KnoxviUe, 2006) - but both volumes are frequently, and often unnecessarily, referenced throughout the narrative.
