Like most public figures, authors go in and out of fashion. This is especially true for authors who are also philosophically and/or politically engaged. Albert Camus has been something of a lightning rod for several decades and is certainly one of those authors who has gone in and out of fashion. Thankfully, Camus and his work seem to be enjoying a critical resurgence.
