Drew Hayden Taylor invites a motley crew to dinner at Colleen's apartment in alternatives, and sparks fly. I purposely say Colleen's apartment, though she lives with Angel, because Hayden Taylor makes it apparent that this relationship has been built via Colleen, a very bright Jewish academic who seems to see Angel as her personal link to Indianness. Colleen's friend Michelle, who is one of the invited guests and, guess what? -- a vegetarian to boot -- is equally manipulative in her partnership with Dale. Both women end up being predictable, clichéd and not very believable characters. My family and life are filled with Jewish academics and most of my female friends are vegetarians, but I have yet to meet anyone who fits the bill these two man-made women fill.
