A 74-year-old man developed peripheral neuropathy during the concomitant use of imatinib and amlodipine.
The man, who had chronic myeloid leukaemia, received imatinib 400mg twice daily in a clinical trail; his other medication included perindopril. He tolerated treatment well for the first 2 months, with a mean actual daily dose of 800mg. He then developed angioedema, probably related to perindopril.
