A 50-year-old woman developed angioedema during antihypertensive therapy with amlodipine.
The woman, who had a history of uncontrolled hypertension and stage 5 chronic kidney disease, had been hospitalised for a right thalamic haemorrhagic stroke. Hypertensive emergency had been diagnosed and she had developed heart arrest and received cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
