Abstract

Muroi et al describe a patient with anaphylaxis induced by the carboxymethylcellulose sodium in barium sulfate suspension; skin tests were performed on the patient for each of the components of the barium suspension. The frequency of allergic reactions to barium sulfate suspensions seems to be increasing.
