Can we have a little history of RASH Bogotá?
RASH Bogotá: Briefly, RASH Bogotá is born in 1997, originally exclusively urban. Skins of the communist era are behind it; their goal was to create a strong and organized movement to propose political and counter- cultural solutions. Initially, we did not do much; we put out a fanzine called RedZine, we ran a bar called Bar-Red and we prowled the city in search of Nazis. We were 10 at maximum. To animate RASH, we worked with anarchist political organizations and Communists, we were involved in demonstrations and we often tangled with the cops. RASH succeeded the old Resistencia Redskin of Bogotá, which was dissolved. We had a lot of stories of fights, confusing variety, some of us spent little stay in prison, we formed a theater that was thought to be quite entertaining. One day, we got sick, and we have decided to build a strong disciplined organization, respected by the city for both its political/ cultural activity and its direct actions.
Could you present your activity and define yourselves politically?
Currently we are working hard in our city and also internationally. Each time our finances allow us, we put out our fanzine Barricada Intemacionalista. We have already published three numbers and the fourth is expected soon. Our zine is called so because we are recalling the work of an early fanzine from RASH Paris, Barricata. Throughout the year we do different counter-cultural and political initiatives and social activities. We organize festivals: Fuck The RAC Fest, RASH Fest, Rock Radical Rojo and "Para Todos Todo" (All for Everyone) Festival. These events greatly contributed to strengthening the anti-Fascist movement in Bogota. There were musical groups who were close to us, and RASH could present their proposals and policies in a cultural milieu.
