All too frequendy Arthur Tudor is remembered only as the older brother of Henry VIII who died in his youth and made Henry his fatiier 's direct heir. Henry VIII married Arthur's widow, Katherine of Aragon, to maintain the Spanish alliance and retain the large dowry; almost two decades later, Henry VIII would seek an annulment - that action resulted in the English Reformation. While these developments are salient features in sixteenth century English history, Steven Gunn (Merton College, Oxford) and Linda Monckton (English Heritage) have edited this important and valuable study to shed additional light on Arthur Tudor's impact on English political, architectural, and artistic achievements of the period.
