etal. 2015). These degraded lands are reclaimed by development of forestry as post-mining land use (Maiti 2012).Several studies reported higher heavy metal concentration in the OB which gets accumulated in the vegetation growing on these reclaimed dumps (Maiti 2007, 2012; Zhang etal. 2012; Kumar and Maiti 2014, 2015). The OB consists of sedimentary rocks belong to barakar formation (feldspathic sandstone, siltstone, grey shale, carbonaceous shale and coal), colliery shales and silt. The chemical composition of sandstone from barakar formation was reported as 9132mgkg1 Co, 2388mgkg1 Cu, 34607mgkg1Zn, and 1655mgkg1 Pb while Mn exists as MnO (Prachiti etal. 2011; Singh etal. 2011). Heavy metal accumulation by dierent plant tissues have been studied by various researchers in dierent environment such as waste dump sites, mine soils, etc. (Mukhopadhyay and Maiti 2011;Garca-Salgado etal. 2012) but there is a paucity of data on metal distribution in dierent tissues of trees growing on these reclaimed mine soils (RMS). Eucalyptus hybrid, one of the most frequently used tree species for reclamation of coal mine degraded land has been selected for the present study, due to its fast growth, high biomass production, and its usability for ecological services such as biomass production for energy and timber products (Prez-Cruzado etal. 2011). Principal components analysis (PCA) has been widely used to identify the conglomeration of metals in contaminated soils (Fernndez-Caliani etal. 2009). Several researchers have used PCA for the identication of sources of heavy metals in contaminated sites such as urban, grassland and agricultural soils (Manta etal. 2002; Shan etal. 2013; Cai et al. 2015; Chai et al. 2015). Considering the toxic eects (such as intrusion into agricultural soils, drainage into surrounding water streams, etc.) of heavy metals present in RMS to the environment, there is a strong need to investigate the level of heavy metal contamination in
