Sussan Ley, Australia's federal health minister, resigned on 14 January after a week of media headlines about her parliamentary expenses which included charging taxpayers for attending two New Year's parties with one of Australia's richest women, Sarina Russo.
A qualified pilot, Ley also allegedly flew herself between cities on two occasions, charging taxpayers more than $A13000 (£8000; [euro]9100; $9700) when business class tickets would have cost around $A800 each.
It also emerged that during a ministerial trip in 2016-again funded by taxpayers-she had bought an apartment for $A800000 from a party donor.
Ley, the daughter of a former British intelligence officer, has always denied any wrongdoing.
