ABSTRACT:
Distillation is a process in which a liquid fusion is separated into its component parts by vaporization technique. It is broadly used method for separating mixtures. To separate a mixture which has different boiling points enforced into gas phase and then the gas is condensed into liquid form and collected. Distillation column is widely used in pharmaceutical industries solvents. Acetone with water has been used in this process. Based on the boiling point of the solvent they are been placed at the top end bottom end of the extraction column. Before the extraction process could be done the two solvents has to be analyzed whether it is suitable for the distillation process. This analysis is done by PHA and PSSR test. It is done so that losses such as corrosion, error, leakage etc can be avoided. The output obtained is purified solvent which depends upon the input. The entire system is been controlled by PLC and SCADA. By continuous distillation column temperature, pressure, flow and level are been measured and controlled automatically. So the advantage here is time consumption, safe environment and smoothly handled.

INTRODUCTION:
Distillation could be a method within is which a liquid mixture is separated. To separate a mixture which has different boiling points forced into gas phase and then the gas is condensed into liquid form and collected. Distillation process is generally of two types, Batch and continuous Distillation. The feed is introduced at column. The difference in gravity between vapor and liquid phase is, liquid runs down the column while the vapor flows up the column Liquid reaching the bottom of the distillation column is partially vaporized in a heated reboiler, which is send back up the column. The rest of the bottom column liquid is withdrawn as Bottom Product
The remains Vapor reaching at the highest of the column is cooled and condensed within the over head condenser. A part of liquid is come back to the column as Reflux to produce liquid overflow. The rest of the overhead stream is withdrawn as Overhead Product. As stated, distillation is that the method of heating a liquid till a number of its ingredients passes into...
