This latest release from Música Temprana is a selection of duets from a variety of 17th- and 18th-century Latin American sources, and I find it hard to think of enough superlatives with which to describe it.
That is not to say that it is a perfect recording-no, it has some small foibles. For example, on one or two of the tracks, the low booming percussion almost overbalances the ensemble. I wish that more information had been given for the purely instrumental tracks. And, for a moment or two,...
