The workload of the bankruptcy courts continues to increase, and they are challenged to do more witfi less in the way of resources. Recognizing that almost anything that can be tried in bankruptcy courts (e.g.. valuation disputes, preference actions and such) can also be resolved by alternatives such as mediation, ABI and the Hugh L. Carey Center for Dispute Resolution at St. John's University School of Law are partnering to develop and deliver a national bankruptcy mediation training program for the purpose of training mediators to conduct mediation in matters before the bankruptcy courts.
