In the summer of 2011, Autumn "Ellie" Mitchell was becoming increasingly frustrated. While attempting to design, make and sell powwow outfits, she could not find a single online source for the cut beads, rhinestone banding and other supplies she needed. Seeing a niche, she started drafting a business plan.
With the help of her husband, Autumn debuted Bead & Powwow Supply, LLC in March 2012. Within a few weeks, Autumn had entered an agreement with Rick Hewitt of Flying Feathers Trading Post to buy his entire stock of Czech beads. In July 2012, the Flying Feathers stock was picked up-enormously increasing Bead & Powwow Supply's selection of beads. Other product expansions have included Austrian crystal sew-on stones, Czech and Chinese rhinestone banding, and Delica beads.
