Abstract
Kısaca ifade etmek gerekirse, İstanbul Zirvesi, hedeflerinin çoğuna ulaşmıştır ve lULA’nın ve G4+ Yerel Yönetimler Habitat II Yönetim Kurtılu’nu oluşturan diğer uluslararası kuruluşların aylarca süren yoğun çalışmaları ve emekleri boşa gitmemiştir. Bazı hassas konularda aylarca ve haftalarca süren ve nihayet İstanbul’da iki hafta süresince yoğun olarak devam eden görüşmeler sonucunda, 15 Haziran 1996 Cumartesi günü sabah saatlerinde toplanan son Genel Kurul oturumunda İstanbul Deklarasyonu ve Habitat Gündemi kabul edilmiştir.
