Abstract

The use of the terms "brachial" and "antebrachial" in the upper limb, and of the term "femoral cutaneous nerve" for the cutaneous nerve of the thigh, are no longer used. Because of the recent clinical recognition of the importance of the fascial compartments of the limbs when the vascular supply to the limbs is compromised, the various compartments should be named and labeled; here they are not.
