I must congratulate Dr Klein and colleagues for the splendid and well-documented article entitled "Nutrition Support in Clinical Practice: Review of Published Data and Recommendations for Future Research Directions," published in the issue of May-June 1997,1 which I read with great interest.
I fully agree with the review with respect to the data related to sepsis. However, I have to point out the statement about differences in clinical outcome, "decrease in mortality (p < .03)," in the critically ill septic patients receiving 45% branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) vs...
