BRASIL ANOS 2000: A política social sob regência da financeirização

Abstract

Este artigo analisa como o processo de financeirização em massa, que caracterizou o ciclo de governança do Partido dos Trabalhadores, ganha escala e escopo subsumindo a política social. Prioriza o exame de três setores em particular-previdência, saúde e educação superior-, revelando qual o papel do Estado nesse processo e como os agentes financeiros tornam-se os gestores do social.

This paper examines how the mass-based financialization process, which prevailed under the rule of the Worker's Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores), has gained scale and scope, subsuming social policy. It focuses on three specific sectors--pensions, the healthcare system and college education-- so as to unfold the role played by the state in this process as well as the path taken by financial actors now turned into the new managers of the social.
