In her introduction Jenny Daggers implies that her central theme will be an account of the British Christian women's movement in the 1970s and 1980s, centering on and using the evidence of the Christian Women's Information and Resources (CWIRES) project. The archives of this project are now at the John Rylands University Library in Manchester where Daggers used them in her doctoral dissertation from which this book is drawn. CWIRES was active between 1978 and 1992; it acted as a central archive and clearing house for material from various groups within the British movement. Such an account could have made an interesting and useful book for anyone interested in women's movements and organizations, especially those with a distinctly Christian focus....
