A man developed various toxicities due to abuse of caffeine/codeine phosphate/paracetamol [acetaminophen]/propyphenazone.
The man died at age 35 years during hospitalisation, and was referred for autopsy [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. Medical history revealed an addiction to caffeine/codeine phosphate/paracetamol/propyphenazone [Plivadon] present since childhood, whereby he received up to 40 tablets daily. According to family members, he had started administering medications for headaches and toothaches in adolescence, and developed dependence over time.
