Acute Spinal Injuries: Current Management Techniques" will be held at the Sheraton Sturbridge Inn, in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The course is sponsored by the Department of Orthopedics, University of Massachusetts Medical Center. The seminar will include didactic lectures, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. The lectures will focus on the assessment and management of fractures of the spine. The panel discussions will give the registrants an opportunity to discuss particular problems with the faculty in an informal format. Hands-on workshops will give the registrants an opportunity to become familiar with newer types of spinal fixation devices. These sessions will utilize actual instrumentation on simulated bones. The Tenth Meeting for the Singapore Orthopedic Association will be held in Singapore. The theme of this meeting will be pediatric orthopedics, bul free papers on any orthopedic subjects will be considered. Topics include congenital talipes equino varus, arthrogryposis, congenital dislocation of the hip, congenital constriction of bands, cerebral palsy, leg length discrepancy, and torticollis and scoliosis.
