A 53-year-old woman died following an unintentional overdose of sodium oxybate [Xyrem], carisoprodol and tramadol.
The woman had a history of narcolepsy, sleep apnoea and sarcoidosis and had been receiving the following medications: sodium oxybate 7.5mL twice per night (solution 500 mg/L, total nightly dose 7.5g) for narcolepsy, tramadol 650mg three times a day [therapeutic indication not stated], carisoprodol 350mg at bedtime [therapeutic indication...
