Abstract
Mahadevi is one of the fourth pillars of 'Chhayawad'. As a conscious thinker, she presented her thoughts on the social, political, literary, cultural aspects of that era in her literature contemplation in 'Chhayavaad', 'Rahasyavaad', 'Gitikavyay', 'Yathaarth and Aadarsh', 'Abhinaykala', 'Hindi Rangmanch', Kavya and Hamara Chitramay Sahitya' and Kavyakala'. The one side of her literature is poetry while the other having a critic aspect. In this paper, the Chhayawadi movement of poetry has been studied on various aspects and understanding of the Chhayawad seems to be incomplete without her literature contemplation.
