Abstract

The authors describe the composition of the SWR1/INO80-c complex and discuss its diverse nuclear roles ranging from repair processes to regulation of gene expression. Altogether, these results demonstrate the importance of the proper chromatin remodeling in crucial cellular processes, including gene expression, cell cycle regulation, DNA replication and repair, and hormone signaling. Transcriptomic analysis of mutant plants reveals that the KNL2 gene loss of function affects processes of cell cycle regulation, transcription, development, and DNA repair. Authors provide an integrated view on the roles of oxidants (reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide) and antioxidants (pyridine nucleotides and glutathione) in the modulation of DNA methylation and histone modifications in plants.
