There is an ongoing concern that the pancreatic enzyme, chymotrypsin, continues to be linked with cases of anaphylactic shock, according to the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC).
In a signal notification, Dr Birgitta Grundmark and Professor Ambrose Isah from the UMC indicated that its signal detection screening in September 2015 had highlighted that anaphylactic shock following chymotrypsin (as a single agent) was a "continuing safety issue".
